A beginning …
Our vision is to have gathered in one place the most important recordings of life in Upper Canada. Our achievement and its ultimate significance will depend on you and many others.
Please feel free to browse — or register to share your thoughts and to access our growing collection of nineteenth century publications.
We are also excited to introduce Peannairi — our community forum dedicated to engaging people like you in original historical research.
Peannairi’s first project is a collaborative transcription of a survey of a sample of 180 Irish settlers who were assisted by the British government to emigrate to Upper Canada in 1823 & 1825, under the superintendence of Peter Robinson.
